Alice Maria REEVE married Edward CARR. They were my great grandparents.
Alice Maria was the daughter of John REEVE and Susannah BASSITT or BASSETT. She was born in Methwold,Thetford in Norfolk on the 14 November 1872 and by 1881 was living in Middlesbrough with the rest of her family. John is described as a Farmer Labourer on her birth certificate.
John and Susannah were married on October 15 1870 at Northwold, Norfolk. Both are described as being of age. Susanna was the daughter of Thomas BASSETT, Labourer, but no parental details are given for John.
The 1871 Census has them living in Gooderstone, Norfolk, with Susannah's family

John is now married to someone called Sarah. As I know from her certificate that Phoebe was the daughter of John and Susannah, either Susannah has died in the interim period and John is now remarried, or the Census entry is wrong. The birth certificate of John W[illiam] Reeve on 19 July 1879 at Linthorpe indicates that Susannah Bassett was indeed his mother so it looks like the census entry was in error. At the time of John William's birth the family was at 97 Hatherley Street in Linthorpe.
Also listed on the census for 23 Hampden Street is William Wilson, a 30 year old tailor from Boston, Lincolnshire, who is a visitor. His relationship to the family is unknown at this time.
It took some time to find them on the 1891 Census, as they were registered under the name 'Harrison' for some unknown reason. They were at the same address as they were in 1901

John REEVE was the son of Elizabeth REEVE nee DANIELS. He was born at Thetford Workhouse on 26 Feb 1847. There is no father listed on his birth certificate. I have not tracked him on the 1851 Census yet but in 1861 he is in Northwold in the household of Thomas HARRISON. Elizabeth REEVE nee DANIELS married Thomas HARRISON in September 1851:
